TRIP OVERVIEW
Zanzibar is an amazing home for beach tours and holidays in the whole of East Africa. It is marvellous to vacate on some of the best Africa’s beaches on the famous Zanzibar Archipelago. The ambience at these calm white sand palm beaches smells only of peace and tranquillity. Most interesting is that the various beach hotels and lodges are internationally standardised. You will find all categories of accommodation to suit your lifestyle from upscale luxury, average luxury to budget and cheap but decent lodgings. You can also visit the neighbouring Mafia Archipelago with a more tranquil ambience offering you private small intimate lodgings. You will get high value at Mafia if you desire to have a personalised serene vacation possibly with only your loved one on isolated sandbars surrounded by shallow coral seas.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival In Zanzibar Airport
Arrival in Zanzibar airport where you will be met with our driver and be taken to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Prison Island- Stone Town Tour
At 0900am you will be taken from your hotel for a full day at Prison Island and Nakupenda (I love you) Sandbank. Prison Island was formerly owned by an Arab and was privately used as a place of detention for disobedient slaves. It was built in 1893 as a central prison for Zanzibar, hence the name “PRISON ISLAND”. You will be able to see Giant Tortoises, Dikdik, Peacock, Prison Chamber, Mangrove Forest and perhaps swim and snorkel if interested.
In the evening when the weather is cooler (4pm) we will leave for City tour.
we will have a chance to visit Town Markets, old slave markets, National Museum, High court building, Old German Consulate, Africa House (former English Club), Tippu Tip House and Grave, Kelekele square, Old British Consulate, Orphanage home, Old Fort, Forodhani Gardens, House of Wonders, Sultan Palace, Dr. Livingstone House, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Old Mosques, Freddie Mercury House among others.
Dinner and overnight in Stone town.
Day 3: Blue Safari – The Highlight Of Zanzibar.
We leave stone town at 0900am to Fumba village where our sailing boat will be awaiting to take us to Kwale Island for BLUE WATER SAFARI – The highlight of Zanzibar.
We will sail in a beautiful traditional wooden dhow, watch Dolphins (if we have a chance of seeing them) at play, snorkel over the reefs of Menai Bay conservation area, feast on a swahili influenced seafood buffet that include Fish on coconut source, Rice, French Fries, Calamari, Lobster, Prawns, Octopus and tropical fruits etc.
We will visit a Baobab tree believed to be more than 500years old before sailing back to Fumba village.
In the evening drive to you for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Free Day
We have a free day to relax and swim on these beautiful beaches of Zanzibar
Day 5: Dolphin Tour – Spice Farm Tour – Airport.
Another adventurous day to swim with Dolphins.
Depart from your hotel at 06:00 am to Kizimkazi (southern coast) village; board your motorized boat to find playful Dolphins out in the open waters. Swim with then if you can or otherwise watch them from the boat. Kizimkazi is the most popular Dolphin spotting location where you can see both BOTTLE – NOSED and HUMPBACK DOLPHINS.
Around 0900am we will go for Spice farm tour to experience the rare tropical spices and fruits that are grown in Zanzibar – hence Spice Island.
